view from the lighthouse looking north. the ocean is the water to the right, the lagoon is the water to the left, and a small mangrove lagoon in the center.

punta allen from the back of a pickup truck. when i was on my way, i didnt know it at the time, to the point at punta allen where the secret light house is.

some brightly colored tupperware that was for sale on the roadside
the entrance sign to Punta Allen.
after english music class and drumming we went for a walk through town with the few remaining kids
i fugured since we were learning about music it would be appropriate if we all started druming on the water jugs(garrafones). the kids loved it and all joined in pretty quickly.
two of the kids trying to start a rhythm. one boy was good!

me and shayle led the way. ofcourse me with the crazy beats no could follow. we started singing "we will, we will rock you!" the kids loved it
we were just getting warmed up here. i think i heard the students are going to start a drum squad after this afternoon!

me and shayle, my homegirl from pez maya from sf, and my favorite little student
Lluvia with her jar of lollies. the kids had to answer a question right about what they learned that day.
we played around a lot with the kids after the class was done.
one of the youngest girls and most shy girl. she rarely sat through a class just kind of hung around the schoolyard.
Shayle teaching the older students about music. me and her were partners this day and we taught them about different genres, bands, whos in a band, and instrument names

Bottom of a dead southern stingray, that we found washed up on our beach one morning.

It was a big female. We all walked out to look at it before it slowly washed up the beach.
Lanchas(little boats) for going out on the lagoon in. I ran into a guy at a rancha and he took me out fishing in one of these boats. We took a net and some hand lines. No motor so we used a long bamboo pole to push us along. I caught a sardine in the net but then was unable to catch anything with the bait on the line.
the view from the boat path to the lagoon.
abandoned house tucked back in the bush. one of a bunch of abandoned cement blocks next to Xamach Dos.
an massive old bouy stuck in the sand.
Where i set my tent up for the night. there was a nice little shack built up with an old ripped tent for a roof.
the sunrise from the tent.
Swing hanging from a dead palm trunk. Near a spot I camped at one weekend in Sian Kan.
